Governance & Trustees
Governance
As a small charity it’s important we have a board of trustees who can help provide guidance and advice through both robust and challenging periods.
Our current trustees have a wealth of experience in operations, finance and the law.
We are regulated by the Charities Commission. Please click here to see all our audited reports and accounts.
Trustees
Jessica Alsford
Jessica joined Morgan Stanley in 2005. She holds an M.A. in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University and is a CFA charterholder.
She is a member of the Advisory Board for Imperial College’s MSc in Climate Change, Management and Finance.
Emma Ashton
Emma is a senior finance professional with over 20 years of international finance experience and is currently Finance Director for a commodities fund.
Emma lives locally in Cobham with her two sons and was introduced to the work of Oasis via her sons’ school involvement with the charity.
Emma became a trustee for Oasis at the start of 2022 and offers her finance and compliance experience to the charity to enable Oasis to continue its vital work within her local community.
Amna Boheim - Chair of Trustees
Amna was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs before leaving to work for the hedge fund, Moore Capital. After 12 years in the City, she left to have a family, moving to Cobham in 2015. With her children all at school, Amna wanted to volunteer for a charity which was local, high impact and focused predominantly on families.
Having been introduced to Caroline Edwards and on seeing the important work that Oasis does in the Community, she wanted to get more involved. She became a trustee in 2021 and assists Caroline and the team on a day-to-day basis with fundraising, marketing, and helps co-ordinates the charity's volunteers.
Caroline Edwards
Caroline Edwards has over 40 years’ experience supporting vulnerable children and families. She began her career as Team Manager for the largest day nursery run by Children’s Services, followed by a period working as a Family Support Worker for Cobham Social Services team.
She set up Oasis in 1996 wanting to create an organisation that she never had access to when she was in crisis, an organisation which families can turn to, knowing they are supported over the long term.
Graham Farmer
Graham spent 29 years working in senior technology positions at GlaxoSmithKline and is now providing consultancy services to large technology service providers.
He has lived in Weybridge for 26 years and is married with three children.
On seeing the passion of the Oasis team and the critical nature of their work, Graham joined as a trustee in 2019 and helps the charity in multiple ways.
Flora Rostami-Bryan
Flora has been a lawyer in the tech industry for her entire career, working in start-ups all the way to tech giants. Prior to attending law school she studied psychology and volunteered in various clinics, including those focused on helping women and children.
While wanting to reconnect with that prior passion and get involved with her new local community, she was serendipitously introduced to Oasis.
One of the newest trustees to be added in 2025, she is honoured to have the opportunity to support Oasis.
Sophie Russell
She was first introduced to Oasis through the involvement of local schools and their seasonal community campaigns. During her maternity leave, Sophie volunteered weekly for the Oasis food bank, gaining some direct insight into the charity’s essential support for families. On returning to work, she sought other ways to contribute and joined the Board of Trustees in 2025.
Sophie holds a degree in Sociology & Cultural Studies and has been engaged in volunteering from an early age, shaped by a strong family and school ethos of charitable service.
Jenner Sturges
Jenner began her career as a primary school teacher, before transitioning into the charity sector. Over the last 20 years, she has focussed on charities with a community or child-centred mission in the UK and internationally. Much of her work has involved fundraising from the corporate sector, collaborating with both large multinational firms and local companies.
Jenner’s connection to Oasis began through her children’s school. Recognising the organisation’s vital work in the local community, she has become a trustee, keen to leverage her expertise and experience to support Oasis’s efforts and enhance its impact.
