The Freedom Programme for Survivors of Domestic Abuse

‘The course has helped me gain knowledge and understanding which has helped me and given us a calm and loving home’

‘It made me feel less alone and that it wasn’t my fault’

‘I feel empowered’

‘It was very helpful to have others talk to who are going through similar experiences. By doing group tasks and listening to others helped me gain a lot of knowledge and understanding about domestic violence’

‘I feel more relaxed and I’m dealing with my life better now, being able to see the light thanks to Oasis’

‘It made me believe in myself again’

Nursery

‘Thank you to each and every one of you for your part in my baby’s nursery experience. He has run through that door since day one and that’s because you all do such an amazing job at making it perfect for kids. Thank you for the endless games you’ve played, for teaching him the tools he needs to move up in the world, for making him feel safe, and for every second that you’ve put into him’

’Oasis has been a part of mine and my children’s lives since they were babies. We used to attend the stay and play sessions and when the boys qualified for FEET funding they started attending the nursery sessions. My children arrive at Oasis smiling and they leave smiling. The nursery staff are absolutely fantastic, and we all have a strong bond with them.’

‘My eldest is autistic and Oasis staff have supported us throughout the diagnosis process and constantly work alongside myself and other professionals in our life to ensure he is fully supported and that his needs are met. We moved away from the Cobham area in 2019, however, I continue to bring the boys to the nursery at Oasis as I would not want my children to be spending their days anywhere else. Oasis is a away from home for my family and regardless of where we are at in our lives it will always have a place in my heart’

‘Oasis Nursery have been utterly amazing. Our autistic son is non-verbal and has global development delay, and as such, we were very nervous about entrusting him to anyone else to look after for any period of time. The staff at Oasis are so fantastic. They are loving, nurturing and understanding. They give so much, not only to the children, but to us as a family.

They have supported us through, especially during the pandemic in a multitude of ways, given us so much information we would never have known, introduced us to life changing services and support. Oasis are more than just a nursery, they are a invaluable organisation that have given so much with no expectation in return. I just wish our boy could stay there forever, because he is so happy and we trust the staff implicitly with him, his safety and development. Thank you, Oasis, for everything you have done for us.’

Outreach

‘I would like to send a quick email to say how incredibly lucky you all are to work with such a lovely lady. Patricia has been amazing and I wanted to send an email to you to say how amazing she is. I have been going through such a difficult time recently with my ex-husband, divorce and keeping my children safe etc and through all that Patricia has been my rock at times.

Patrica has been on the end of the phone whenever I’ve needed her. Gone out of her way to call me to find out how I am and has been accommodating with changing courses etc. Patricia is compassionate and kind. She is 1 in a million

’Thank you all so much for my children’s Christmas presents and for the Christmas food hamper. I really do not know what I would have done without all of your amazing kindness and support through this difficult time. You are all so kind and go the extra mile. Thank you all for your generosity and kindness

‘This charity actively goes out of its way to support vulnerable families for the long haul – not just for a few weeks. Oasis is a true and inspirational example I pray will be adopted throughout Surrey and beyond. This charity truly cares and displays this through their actions. My family and I are living proof that they truly touch people’s lives’

‘Oasis has saved my life by providing courses that have enabled me to turn my life around. I would never have been able to get where I am without the continued help and support of Oasis, providing me with legal assistance, resilience, domestic violence awareness courses and life coaching. Without this support, I would definitely not have been able to function normally and would have definitely been a continuing victim. I am really so grateful to Caroline and all the staff at Oasis. This is a wonderful charity that offers chances and support to families with little or no means of coping and surviving’

Fresh Food Banks

‘This was an absolute godsend! The normal food banks mainly only provide tinned food and my two young children (7 & 2) will happily eat fresh healthy food but refuse tinned/dry food.  So, without Oasis my kids would either have eaten very little or all of my budget would have been used up on basic food, no treats, no ice lollies on a hot day.  But instead I could celebrate my son’s birthday and treat him to a trip to the cinema, when it re-opened.  People take these things for granted, but most of the time I go without in order to provide for my kids.  Oasis gave me some dignity - so without it, everything becomes a sacrifice and it causes me anxiety and depression trying to make things ‘good enough’ when I don’t have the means.

With lockdown my son lost his free school meals adding extra to my food bill.  The free school meal vouchers, when they arrived, could be used to buy new school uniform ready for the new school year as I had received the food from Oasis.  Oasis has been an anchor without which my family would have been lost.  I cannot thank them enough for sacrificing their holiday and time with their families to serve our community and the vulnerable people who use Oasis.  To everyone who supports Oasis—thank you!  You provide vital support to vulnerable families who otherwise might be forgotten.  Families are healthier and happier because of you’

‘Can I first say that Caroline and her team at Oasis are doing a sterling job to provide the    families in need in the Cobham and surrounding areas. I actually look forward to seeing the team every week, they are so friendly and helpful.  We have great ‘banter’ which can be a much needed boost in these trying times.  Next, I would like to add that their Covid system for safety for the public is second to none.  Well done guys you’re God sent. I would be in dire straits if Oasis was not there to offer their kind service to me and my two girls, for which I am eternally grateful’

Emotional Resilience Course

‘The Emotional Resilience course has been invaluable to me – it's made me see things more clearly and make better choices’

‘It sounds cliché, but the course really did change my world. I was stuck in old patterns which were definitely not serving me (well) and was causing damage to my happiness, my family life, my children's happiness … I was allowing bad behaviour from others to keep their place in our lives. Through the steps learnt and the skills we learnt I made huge "towards" moves to better my own life and my children's lives. The skills learnt have got me through one of the most difficult periods I've ever been through, keeping me grounded and remembering small steps. This has helped prevent any spikes being so unbearable. Thank you for this course - it is an absolute game changer’

‘The course is amazing and has helped me so much with my thoughts. I hope that I can pass what I've learnt to my kids as I know my son finds his emotions and feelings hard to manage’

Christmas  Gifts & Hampers

‘I have had health issues all year followed by an operation at the end of October. Recovery took a while and I didn’t think I would be able to do my disabled son a Christmas this year. Thanks to Caroline and Oasis I was treated to the most amazing hamper full of Christmas goodies. This meant my son could stay and I didn’t have to worry about trying to afford food. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make Christmas possible – you are all amazing’

‘I am a single mum of two fantastic girls, trying to make ends meet. To have the huge pressure and stress of having to make sure we have a lovely Christmas taken off my shoulders is something I can never thank you enough for. The hamper we so kindly received was exceptional, I was blown away as there was everything we needed to enjoy Christmas to our hearts content especially after the last two years of Covid, it seemed our worries went out of the window for the day and all thanks to the incredible team at Oasis – thank you’

‘Thank you so much … cupboards are full to capacity. Our love to you all at Oasis - if it wasn’t for you guys, Christmas would have been a minimal event. Now you’ve made the Christmas spirit come alive for all the family. Bless you’

‘Thank you so much for what you’ve done. My daughter can have a proper Christmas like she deserves after everything she’s been through. I can’t tell you what this means to me and how much pressure it takes off’
